Outer Space Five started as a group dedicated to the music of jazz legend Sun Ra. After a while saxophonist iordache started to write his own material, and at the same time the group began to feature the outstanding trombonist Tom Smith as a guest. This page documents this short period, before the group was renamed "iordache" and set off for funkier horizons
