Daniel Miller and Bill McKeown began writing music together as members of the progressive metal band Apollo Ra. The initial release, Ra Pariah, became an underground success in the heavy metal community. The group eventually morphed into the original lineup of Museum of Fear. This would mark a new direction, with a renewed focus on songwriting. The initial release, Post-Hypnotic Suggestion Box, on Conspiracy Records, illustrates this next phase in the evolution of the bands sound. The original lineup went their separate ways in 1995, with Dan and Bill continuing to write music as theyd always done. The product of this renewed focus was intended to be the logical next step for Museum of Fear. The 6 songs on the god in my closet bring together some old and new friends to create a project that paves the way for the next era of Museum of Fear.. "Darkest Days" features the drumming and electronic percussion of original Apollo Ra and MoF drummer Steve Albinak. Longtime friend, and new Museum of Fear drummer Mike Shaw, contributed his skills on "Always Goodbye", "Afterthought", "Walking Wounded" and "Mindwheel". Mikes brother, Dave Shaw, rounded out the rhythm section on bass for the remake of Mindwheel. The track had originally appeared on the PHSB album. Baltimore drummer, Darren Wallach, of Forwardhead lent his percussive talents to Fade. This track also featured close friend Tom Dvorak on piano. Guitarist Bill McKeown says, These six songs are kind of a sampler of what we as a band are capable of. This is just the tip of the iceberg. We have another dozen or so unfinished songs, and were constantly writing new material. The music and lyrics fall together like the pieces of a puzzle on this project., says vocalist Daniel Miller. The emotional and musical depths of Museum of Fear are the subject of constant discovery for the band. This project marks another new beginning for us and our fans. The EP, the god in my closet features 6 new exhibits, and is available at CDBaby.com, TowerRecords.com, and select record stores.
