Brand new out of Arkansas, URBAN emerges apart from the cliché acts you hear nowadays from the south. Born and raised in Little Rock, AR, URBAN brings an element of hip-hop that the game has actually been "missin'". URBAN accomplishes what most rappers dont do today, being yourself! "As a youngin, it was an emotional struggle to be somebody when those around you try to put you down," says URBAN, "so I took matters into my own hands." "Its hard to come out locally when there is no support, and with pop music invading the radio airways and todays mainstream rappers giving into those commercial fads out there." Using music as a stress reliever aside from his love of art, URBAN was able become cofounder of the A-STATE HEAVYWEIGHTS, the new generation of the south. "Its not just a group, but a mesh of artists, graphics, and musical production," says URBAN. URBAN has given meaning to music by treating it as the artform it was originally made to be. Accompanied with production from up-and-coming producer SKO!, the combination of both thought-provoking lyrics as well as head nodding/eclectic production gives the music industry a run for its money. The debut album/mixtape, MIXTAPE HUSTLE is the latest project from URBAN which includes original tracks by the artist as well as his own remixed versions of a few mainstream tracks. "This is my introduction to the world and hopefully a way for me to step my foot in the door on any future opportunities."
