BABA encountered MUSIC from the womb and as a little child the SPIRITS of African sounds had a field day initiating and inspiring the dream till he met like-minds in his post-primary school days,...they( BABA(SCO),TSETIM(METRICS),SLY(JON ATTA) & INNY RAP(now 2FACE IDIBIA) started the group BLACK UNIVERSE with the spiritual vision of presenting real authentic African Music Experience to the WORLD.
The quest for further education and lack of encouragement coupled with the bad African economic climate saw to the break-up of the group,each to acquire more knowledge,BABA took time to specialise in the art of perfoming music and further to study communicating with and to the masses.
BABA returned from his academic pursuits,contested and won the elections to led the musicians and put to practice the original vision of the BLACK UNIVERSE...DROPING SOUNDS OF AFRICANESS like the FATHERS OF AFRICA did.
BABA'S music is a fusion of Afro-centricism and pop often intertwined with the pumping rhythms, laced with a rough jazzy vocals and the occasional injection of the IGALA African language to reveal the identity the BLACKMAN he is.
The simplest idea, rooted in another culture is sometimes a challenge to translate in all its potency that same idea. Such is the case with BABA OJONUGWA aka BABA JFO. In IGALA language, BABA OJONUGWA means THANKS BE TO THE ALMIGHTY FATHER. It is a specific reference to the POWER of the father to protect and provide for the masses.
