Band/artist history
The early beginnings of Blues Unchained was formed in the early 90's when the driving force behind the group, bandleader and guitarist Bobby 'Blue' Perry, fell in with keyboardist David Jensen and the two hit it off musically as well as being good friends. They soon were playing in the Eastern Region with various different groups. Perry would book the shows and put all the groups together. He had many very talented musicians who loved to come play because it developed a reputation as always being a fun gig to play. The rythm section was always a professional combo that knew how to lay it down that love playing with Bobby's buddies and they all always had a good time getting together. And that's what you get right here with Blues Unchained, solid groovin' with a soulful, bluesy vibe.
Bobby 'Blue' had a good friend who worked in a steel mill who fancied himself a singer. His name is Eddie Crowe. During this same time frame, the 90's, the two had never gotten to play much other than at the occasional local jam sessions as Crowe's job at the steel mill prevented him from being a full time singer. Crowe saw Bobby 'Blue' playing one day at Baltimore's 'Home of The Blues', the world famous Full Moon Saloon. He knew then that he wanted to play with Perry more often. The two soon joined forces one day in Crowe's girlfriends living room after Crowe had left his job at the steel mill. Bobby 'Blue' brought his guys with him to forge Blues Unchained.

Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes, we do play live as much as possible, mostly in the Mid-Atlantic region. We love playing live, it's what we live for, and we'd love to do it alot more often. The most special was playing at the University of Maryland's Homecoming football game last fall. And also getting to be on the same bill at the east Coast Sturgis Motorcycle Rally with The Nighthawks, one of our very favorite groups from Washington, D.C. and who's song "Too Tall To Mambo", we cover in our own way and was high in the blues charts for us here at Soundclick.

What equipment do you use?
We have Fender electric guitars and amps with vintage Ibanez TS808 Tubescreamer's and Barber Electronics pedals, Hammond organ and Roland and Yamaha keys, Fender bass guitars with Ampeg and Acme cabinets, Ludwig and Mapex drums, harmonica, and sometimes sax.
