Crypts of Highgate is an attempted black metal band that evolved into a catchy blend of both death metal and grunge that combines brutal growls with throaty screams and occasional light vocals. The band draws influence from all genres of music though and is constantly experimenting so it's hard to tell what they'll spit out next.Band/artist history
In the summer of 2004 Jared Downs called the aid of Ewan Leask (leader of a grunge band on hiatus, most likely destined never to get going) and conspired to create a black metal band. Jared's long time friend Nick Sandberg happened to be nearby when the topic of needing a drummer came up and he cut in with "I'll do it." and the rest is history. Soon two more members joined: Caleb on guitar and James Steen on bass. But soon Caleb left to work on another band (which we wish him much luck with) and the band was left to play and evolve without him. Eventually the band developed into a death metal band filled with black metal screams and alternative clean vocals. Since then the band has gone about scaring the elderly and all sorts of morbid shit.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes, wherever and whenever we can!
