This was originally going to be background music for my game, and then somehow it ended up on the last Wolf-Hybrid demo.

Heavy Metal

I've been writing songs by myself for quite a while now. I do guitar, bass, vocals, drums, and a little bit of keybourd so I can handle recording by myself. I have a decent home studio with everything I need to record every instrument. Most of my stuff now is written for my band Wolf-Hybrid but questionable and more experimental stuff stays with me. I like to do a lot of funky bass parts but my band doesn't like that. I usually do straight up metal but I like metal that's different and I want my own sound without mixing bizarre elements into my tunes. My songs here aren't leftovers from my band, just stuff that's more personal with my own set of twists. Enjoy!
Band/artist history
Not much of a history here. I started toying around with my guitar one day and I came up with some interesting stuff. Soon I was writing complete songs. I started off playing guitar, then bass, vocals, and now drums. I most recently started expirimenting with keyboards.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I can't play live by myself! But I have played live with my band. I've had plans to play some of my songs with other bands.
Your musical influences
I'd have to say Nirvanna is my biggest influence to my song writing. Not as a group I model my music after, but as the music that encouraged me to write my own stuff, and to actually play in general and all the instruments I play. For the longest time I listened to nothing but alternative rock but the guys that got me into the whole dark death metal were the vocalist Dave Williams and C.J. Pierce of Drowning Pool (both rest in piece), Dave Williams is still the biggest influence on my vocals, after all he got me into the whole screaming thing. My last guiter teacher kept telling me my riffs sounded a lot like Kerry King's riffs of Slayer even though I never heard them, so I gave them a listen and they sound amazing! Kerry and Jeff Hennemen are definately gods of guitar, however my riffs sound more like Hennemen not King. Lumbardo is an amazing drummer too. I really don't know what band got me into seven strings. I guess the fact that a lot of bands I listen to tune down to drop B or A and I wonder why they don't use seven strings. My bass is definately influenced by older Jazz, blues, and R&B bassist such as Bill Dickens. I only like a handful of rock and metal bassist. I have a hard time with any bassist that useses a pick. Godsmack has heavily influenced my percussion heavily as well as my pissed off vocals. I've always loved the drummer they've had.
What equipment do you use?
Yamaha ERG 121 guitar B.C. Rich Evil Edge Mockingbird (sick guitar!) Peavey Millenium BXP Bass Behringer Vintager AC 112 (now broken) Behringer BX 1200 Ludwig Accent 5-Piece Combo Drum Set Z-Planet Cybals Kustom PA DOD Grunge pedal (now obsoleted by the POD) For recording I use... POD xt Live (a.k.a the tone master!) Yamaha MW12 USB Mixing Studio Cubase LE Audacity T-Racks EQ BBE Sonic Maximiser
Anything else?
Yeah, don't let people tell you what to write or what they is real music. Music is what you think sounds good and I only record what I like and hope others can enjoy it too!
