Leveled is an energetic, fan oriented metal band from Columbus, OH.Band/artist history
Leveled was formed in May 2000. Billy Payne (vocals) had been living in southern Ohio and had been kicking around in a few bands in the Parkersburg, WV area. When things didn't pan out there, he moved to Columbus in search of a new band. Steve Smith (guitars) had just moved back to Columbus from Texas. He then got back in touch with his friends Dave Ziglar (drums) and Brent Corwin (bass). The three had played together in a local bar band several years ago. They put an ad in the newspaper looking for a vocalist. The first day Billy arrived in Columbus was the last day that the ad ran, and he just happened to see it. Things seemed to click right away and they played their first show two months later in Parkersburg. In late August, they went into the studio and recorded their first 3 songs. They contined writing new songs and on March 21, 2001 they made their Columbus, OH debut playing an energetic all original set at The High Five. The club owner was so impressed that she immediately booked three more shows for the band and they now have become one of the club's local favorites. Leveled has gone through some changes in recent months and have replaced our guitarist with Jason Ary - a hard-hitting, in your face musician with a lot of creative spark! Leveled also added a 2nd guitarist - Jerod Mauer. These additions have brought the band to the next level. In November 2002 Leveled released their first full length CD, "it's time..." available at shows and off their website: www.leveledband.com.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes - we've played shows in Columbus, OH, Dayton, OH, Youngstown, OH, Marietta, OH, Parkersburg, WV and are looking to branch out in the Midwest. Playing live is what we live for! We have opened for national acts: Super Joint Ritual, Primer 55, Step Kings, Switched and Harlow.
