How Very Plato How Very Plato
Described as 'Bloc Party fronted by smacked up loser Pete Doherty' we'd like to think of it as a bit more than that especially in the way it relates Platonic ideas to pulling girls and gives a nod to Margaret Atwood's 'The Handmaid's Tale.'
As the dawn of the age of robotics draws near people are losing touch with themselves and their roots. Before long machines will control our brains and all that’s left of rational thought will be the robot armies' decision to destroy the rebellious renegade human survivors of the underground quickly or slowly. Only one force is capable of preventing such a downright arduous and, well frankly, painful future and that force is: The Origins.
Injecting a slice of straight up rock and roll into the derivative arm of the current musical scene, they may well be our only hope against the seemingly unstoppable strength of the robot armies' crushing machines and laser eyes. Combining the groovy bass of Nerdbert Morman, the sexy guitar of Adam Kirk, steady drumming by Dan Hogg and undeniably cool vocals from Townsend its difficult to find fault in their musical onslaught.
Formed in the onset of 2004 in the ghetto of Kingston upon Thames from the ashes of various other inferior bands and street gangs The Origins had but a single goal: To prevent a robot infestation, and the only way they deemed this possible was to rock and rock hard at that. So as you lie in bed tonight wearing your happy pyjamas and grasping your hot water bottle, remember who’s keeping you safe from the impending forces of danger and mind control.
Oh. And buy their CD.Have you performed in front of an audience?Of course. The Origins have featured at a number of prestigious venues and some not so prestigious ones. Highlights have included West One Four (Kensington), Ecuafest (Kingston), MeMu (Wimbledon)to name but a few.
