It's about time we had a new Christmas record....
Captain Jack Spanner is one of the last in a long line of down-trodden ex-punk/new wave musicians who grew up - then wished they hadn't!
Having decided against re-launching his career through reality TV, the Captain once more picked up his beloved old battered Fender Stratocaster and discovered that even punk-rock can mature with age...
He performed in several UK (Birmingham) Punk/New Wave bands in the late 70s early 80s, most noteably as co-founder and lead guitarist with THE SUSSED - who's debut single "I Like You" is now valued at Â4 in the Millers Rare Record guide!
He moved into songwriting and producing for other artists as the 80's took hold, and later into commercial and jingle production.
The Captain now prefers not to be seen in public. He is a co-director of a drama school for 5 - 18 year olds, where he is affectionally known as "Mr Dub"
He is now currently re-writing and re-recording many of his tracks from the late 70's early 80's and, by giving them a "modern" feel, hopes to help regenerate a punk/new wave revival.Have you performed in front of an audience?Captain Jack Spanner no longer plays live... but his other self does....
