Blaq Majiq is a Hip-Hop duo that hails from Columbus, Ohio. Our group members (in no particular order) are DwayneMarque and Prince William Tucker. We are really excited about the prospects of having a chance (via the net) to let people hear the music we enjoy making so much. We feel that we are in the midst of something amazing that is soon to take place within the Columbus Hip Hop and general music scene for that matter. We feel that it is our responsibility to create music that keeps people grooving, growing (spiritually, intellectually, artistically, etc.), positve seed-sowing,& also generate & sustain an interest in this Blaq Majiq movement as a whole. We have known each other personally for a little more than a decade now. We bagan to rhyme as a group right aruond the middle of 2002 following a collaboration on a song called "hey lady" (you all will enjoy it). The energy and the chemistry was so crazy that it gave us individually a unique sound collectively and after the point the term inseperable would be an understatement.Have you performed in front of an audience?We haven't been involved in many live showcases, but what we have done has definitely been gratifying. Everyone from Nina Simone to Flavor Flav (lol), anything that's good music gets play. As a group, and on an individual basis, the catalouge of artist that you would hear or come across in our selection is so broad that it would take forever and a day to list them all. Notable mentiones are Sade, Scarface, Jay-z, Kanye West, Common, Snoop, Dead Prez, Sam Cooke, D'Angelo, K.R.S o.n.e., Black Star,Tupac, Dwele, Coldplay, Thelonius Monk, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Les Nubian, Floetry, Micheal Jackson, Stevie Wonder... just too name a few lol.Anything else?
We understand that at this point the music isn't at its highest quality, however if you can get past that and recognize the creativity and originality of it we are sure that those of you that really miss music with passion and feeling will enjoy the product.
