After the demise of Faultered State in the fall of 2005 Faultered State vocalist Rick Manzo was content on starting a new project as soon as possible. Along with former Fallen World guitarist Marti Petrelli and Mario Garza on drums and new additions Miguel Galvan on guitar and Marc Pena on bass they have began what would soon become the first adaptation of A Day of Ashes. With a sound of massive guitars, powerful lyrics, and catchy melodies A Day of Ash’s hard rock sound will keep you moving no matter what type of music is your preference. Only having a few shows under their belt, they have developed a fast growing fan base with their impressive show at Riofest Battle of the Bands 2007. Their songs Someday (I will) and Waste Me have served as a buzz maker on their myspace page (myspace.com/adayofashes) causing curiosity among rock fans in and out of the valley. They have been as high as number 2 on the underground countdown in Rockland Maine’s local station 93.3 WRFR “live from the pit”. They also have been interviewed by the valleys own Mighty Mike Quinn on Q 94.5 the rock station. Their debut album “Turmoil” is set for release sometime this year.
