We're a Under 18's Alternative & Punk band. We're from a little island called Jersey in the Channel Islands. We consist of:
Ben Russell - Vocals, Screamer and Guitar
Jonny Sennet - Lead Guitar and Backing Guitar
Henry Le Maistre - Bass
Tom Hillman - DrumsBand/artist history
Skies Of Deciet started back in Year 8 (the good old days) when me and Henry realised we shared the same taste in music (we were both die hard Alkaline Trio fans). So we decided to form a band, where i would sing and play guitar and he would play lead guitar. It was all talk until Year 9, when we found some members. But things didn?t really work out and the 2 members left and formed a band called Kustom Made.
When they left Hen and I were kinda stuck and jus played Alkaline Trio acoustic for a while. Then we were desperate and went through a few members but none really worked out. So it was just me and Hen for the third time.
Then I started becoming good friends with Tom and he played drums so I asked him to join! The thought hadn?t really come to me before, but he was an awesome drummer and shared the same taste in music. So there we had it a fuckin awesome drummer!! Now it?s damn hard to find a bassist, but Henry also played bass. So he said and i quote "fuck it russell ill play bass we?ll jus find another lead guitarist".
So that was that we were on a quest for an awesome guitarist... and we found him, JONNY!! He was in another band Blacklight (www.blacklight.vze.com), and i watched them practise a lot. And he said to me one day that he would love to be in a punk band, so i phoned him up and BOOM!! there we were and still are Skies Of Deciet!!!
We started practisin at the beginning of August 2004 and we?ve gotten pretty good (i think) We?ve had about 8 or 9 of gigs which went pretty well, and now we?ve started the recording of our EP "Selfishness to Selflessness"Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes we organise some of our own gigs with other local Jersey bands like Kustom Made (www.kustommade.tk). We've been asked to play at locals Bars and things like that. We like to gig as frequently as possible.
