Sup yall this a little background on illwittdeez,out of Youngstown, Ohio.
I now reside in Columbus; I’ve been living here for the past four years. I make beats on Acid 5.0. & Sound Forge 6.0.Band/artist history
I was always into music I started out as a D.J. My first gig was my own graduation party, & it wasn’t because I couldn’t afford a D.J. It was how bad I wanted to get into it, from there my name started to get around so business picked up real quick I had to turn people down when I attended YOUNGSTOWN STATE UNIVERSITY I started doing parties there. Also I used to do it part-time for PHAT FLAVA INC. headed up by D.J. MOCHA- MAN.
I first got into production thru my homeboy D.J. TOP CHOICE we go back for years. He introduced me to this crew called KID CITY now known as ILL ELEMENTS which he co- founded when I became a full time member of the crew it was all love. What they gave me, as far as teaching me the in’s & out’s giving me the ability to do what I do today.Have you performed in front of an audience?nah
Your musical influences
I give credit to 3 individuals helping me thru this process first we have JAS the ACE who told me that if I could bring my imagination to musical creation I could succeed as a producer. Then Top Choice who has his own personal studio taught me how to use the equipment & the basics on how to compose a beat this nigga has come thru for me more than anybody would know! Last is C-DUB who like the other two makes some of the freshest shit around, so when I sit down to make beats I have the mindset of trying to top these niggaz & I Feel I’m nowhere close to their level.
My cousin, he was a D.J., and on the weekends in the morning He would practice and I’d be there going thru his crates of music. He played everything JAMES BROWN, FUNKADELIC, ZAPP, RUN-D.M.C. & GRANDMASTER FLASH. Anything he spun I became a fan of then later on they became influences.Anything else?
A co-worker of mine found out I made beats and introduced me to JOE DAWG BROTHER. I gave him a copy of my beat disc and the next thing I know is I got 2 songs on his debut album“SMACKETH THEE” which was the title cut & “Shadow’s Interlude”. In late 2004 I joined. His already in progress “FUCK YOU UP TOUR” doing back up & running sound part-time,
The future for illwittdeez?
First up is the “BUCK STATE UNIVERSITY” mixtape with Joe Dawg Brother & THE CORPORATION. After that is Joe’s 2nd album “PROFESSIONAL SMACKER”. Where I handle about 70 to 75 percent of the production. Then I’ll start working on my album which will feature both ill elements & the corporation along with a few new artists. Recently. I just gave RADIO RAH who I met on myspace.com a couple of tracks, he’s hot so I'm really looking forward to work with him more. I just want to keep making beats, to stay fresh & consistent.
