Tear It Down Tear It Down
Hard rocking blues guitar with a drivng Santana-ish percussion behind a Eric Clapton style vocal.
My name is Craig Bowers. I'm a guitarist, singer, songwriter and I've been playing professionally for almost 40 years based on the Florida Treasure Coast.
I've played in dozens of bands in every format from Blues Brothers style horn groups to power trios and even solo gigs.
I've always tried to align myself with the best available musicians-people who would make me stretch and try to become a better player.Have you performed in front of an audience?I do occasionally play out with 2 groups.
'Madcow Orchestra'- a three to four piece blues oriented group. With MC I play about 50% of my original songs and 50% covers that I rearrange to suit myself.
'Jacks'- my other group is a cover band playing private affairs and the occasional local pub.
Your musical influences
My sisters first husband, Jimmy Hamilton, taught me the basic chords and put me in his band at 14.
The Beatles were just out at this time so that whole British invasion along with Bob Dylan, the Beach Boys,Lovin Spoonful,Young Rascals, etc.Jimi Hendrix was amazing. He reinvented guitar.Mike Bloomfield-long jams and blues bends.Brilliant.
Eric Clapton caught my attention-first with John Mayall and then Cream. After that a long trail of american blues and jazz guitarists.
Then everybdy else. What equipment do you use?
For playing out: 3 Strats, a Les Paul Standard,an Ovation 1868 Elite, a Godin Seagull acoustic and an Ibanez elec.classical.
I play through a Fender Blues Deluxe or a Crate Blue VooDoo.Contact
