Jamie Taylor is a multi-instrumentalist with a deep love of Rock and Roll and the Blues. A natural drummer, he gravitated toward the guitar and eventually began writing material outside of his current band (Used For Glue). Jamie has often stated that he would like to be known as a "drummer who can play slide guitar".
And after years of hearing bad drummer jokes, he decided to name his solo effort "Drummers Can't Play Guitar". His Izzy Straddlin/Ron Wood vocal style came from the lack of a lead vocalist, and a limited vocal range.
Many comparisons to the Stones, Faces, Black Crowes and the Boss are cited, but blues players like Johnny Winter have had great influence over the overall tone and sound of Jamie's music.Band/artist history
Jamie has been on the indie music scene for 10 years, since the age of 19. He started playing and touring with the hard alternative band FLUD, and currently can be heard playing drums with the band USED FOR GLUE (available at soundclick.com). His love of slide guitar and need for self-expression has brought him to this point so far. Jamie plans to record more of the songs he has written, as well as play locally around Barrie and Toronto in the coming months.Have you performed in front of an audience?Looking to form a live band, as well as some acoustic shows.
