Van Sykes Project Van Sykes Project
I recorded just the lead guitar over this backing track supplied by a friend, Randy Van Sykes. Just a sample of an amp I had recently completed some mods on.

This is just some things I've done on my own apart from my band. Most of these songs/clips are samples I made of amps I've made or modified.
Band/artist history
I've been playing guitar since about 69 or 70. I have no formal music training, just jammed with buddies and we taught each other what we learned.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes, I play with a band. I am the guitarist in a three piece classic rock band here in southern California: Rockslide
Your musical influences
Eric Clapton, Duanne Allman, Johnny Winter, Alvin Lee, Toy Caldwell
What equipment do you use?
Oh, a couple of Strats, a Tele, a Mustang, a Les Paul Studio, a ES135, Carvin DC150, Ibanez AR250 Artist, and a few others. For amps I have& use a Super Reverb, a Princeton Reverb, a Musicmaster Bass, heavily moddidifed Carvin Nomad 1x12 combo, Carvin Valvemaster w/ 4x12 cab, Hasse Clubmaster (inspired by Matchless Clubman), heavily modded Alamo Jet (SE 6V6 w/ reverb & trem), an old Alamo Paragon Bass amp w/ 1x15 bass reflex cabinet that sound absolutely incredible, and a few other amps. When I'm not working on somebody elses amp (I do a lot of mods) I've usually got one of my amps torn down soing some type of service/upgrade/modification.
