On Wednesday the 1st of December 2004 Dominic wrote lyrics for a song called 'Bridges Already Burnt'. That night he showed them Thomas and they decided to start a band. On Friday Paul mitchell decided he also wanted to be in the band. Thomas and Dominic met up on Saturday and put Bass, Rhythm and Lead guitar to 'Bridges Already Burnt'. That night they met up with Paul mitchell and decided on two things, they need another guitarist and they're going to be called Tact. On Monday they asked Jacob Broughton to join the band on guitar and vocals and he said yes. On Wednesday Thomas, Dominic and Jacob Broughton put the finishing touches to 'Bridges Already Burnt' and Tact Was Born.
After playing a couple of jam nights at the Duke of York in Eckington and recording there debut 3 track E.P. "The Pilot" at Do-Nut Studios on the 5th, 15th and 23rd of March 2005 they decided yet again on two things, to re-write all their material and to get a singer. Originaly Dominic took on lead vocals and was replaced on bass by Brett Spencer but it didnt realy work out. It was a new singer they needed not a new bassist. A few other singers were asked but after talking about it with the rest of the band Dominic asked Gavin Levick to join on the 5th of april 2005 to take on lead vocals. He agreed and Tact then become a 5-piece.
On the 27th of April 2005 Jacob Broughton dropped out of the band. That same night all the band decided to ask Arran to join and after giving it some thought he said yes. 2 days later paul mitchell dropped out of the band. On the 1st of May 2005 Tom joined the band on drums. Although Tom was the drummer he was unable to practice with Tact for quite a while, so they became an acoustic band until Tom could make it. Which led Tact into writing many acoustic songs and even playing an acoustic set at the Rose and Crown in Eckington.
On Wednesday the 22nd of June 2005 Tom had his first practice with Tact and they became even stronger. But following a few disagrements with certain members of the band Gavin Levick got thrown out Tact on Monday the 15th of August 2005. A couple of singers were asked to replace Gavin but Tact decided to let Arran take on lead vocals, Thomas on backing vocals and as always Dominic screaming.Have you performed in front of an audience? We play as often as we can wherever we can. We love playing live, from screaming our guts out to crying over acustic sets.
