Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Somewhat Envious was formed in November of 2004. We are a Eugene Oregon based band, where we all currently reside. We play hard-edged music that is equal parts heavy metal, hardcore & melodic speed metal. We are a very unique band that sets itself apart from every other band in a variety of ways. We have crafted our own style, look & feel, to make us one of the fastest up & coming bands in the Northwest.
*Josh Berry- has been a vocalist in the area for roughly 10 years and has been in several bands throughout that time. His unique vocals & ever-so-real lyrics, set us apart from other bands, giving us one of the best vocalists locally. Equipment he sings on: Shure microphones, Live Wire Cables & Digitech Vocal 300.
*Angie Anderson- has been playing the guitar for 12 years & has been in several local bands. She continues to be the main drive in the band, writing the majority of our music & some of the lyrics. Her intense playing, dedication & extreme drive, constantly keep this band moving forward. Equipment she plays on: Schecter Diamond Series Black Hawk-w/Tony Iomi Gibson Pickups, Ibanez RG120blk, Fender Squire, Kona Acoustic, Crate Blue Voodoo (modified) 300w tube head, Randall Full Stack (custom with: 2x12's-Celestion Vintage 30's & 1x15' Eminence Legend), Live Wire Cables, Digitech Digi-delay, Digitech Metalzone, 6 piece Yamaha Stage Custom-blk, DW5002 double pedal, all Zildjian cymbals.
*Matt Anderson- has been playing the bass for just about three years and has been in several bands locally. In that time, he has managed to become an excellent musician & very dedicated to not only his playing, but this band as well. He adds a heavy backbone to our band, along with his great motivation. Equipment he plays on:Ibanez Sound gear SRX 300 & SR 500, Squire MB-4, Aria Pro 2, Ampeg & Behringer Cabinets, Ampeg B2RE Head, Digitech BP80, Boss DS-1(distortion), Boss GEB-7(eq), Boss AW-3 (auto wah), Live Wire Cables, Monster Cables, Switch Craft Cables, SKB cases,GHS bass boomer strings & EMG pickups.
*Skelly has been playing the drums for many years. He joined us in 2006 and has been a great asset to the band. His double bass & kit skills add a great back beat to our music. Equipment he plays on: 6 Piece Pearl Drumkit & Zildjian Cymbols.
