Part one of two of a journey through the Iron Forest
Grívf is a crossover project between ambient electronica and generic funeral doom, involving heavy power chords, long ambient sections and minimalistic lyrics alike. Drums are avoided to fully complete the gloomy and bleak atmosphere, sending the listener into long waves of depression.Band/artist history
The object has from day one been clear - to create bleak, gloomy funeral doom metal and to tease (and eventually change) the emotions of others.
The music is centered around the heathen view of death, as well as the journey from life to death, or from Midgaard to Helheim, if one pleases.
The music is dealing with the physical and psychial sensations and experiences of death as the listener is presented with the feelings and thoughts evolving in the mind of a recently deceased person.
Interpretation of these sensations is an individual matter.Have you performed in front of an audience? For the time being, no.
Your musical influences
Anything slow, gloomy and decaying.
Nortt, Vinterriket, Mørkheim, Burzum and Ulver must be the main influences, but Grivf sounds like neither.Anything else?
