Hip Hop General

Brother Hood 603 is a hip-hop group coming out of Sunset Park Brooklyn New York. The group was formed by Arewhy & Thanos as they are blood brothers and grew up together in the slum's of Brooklyn listening to underground hip-hop mostly off the Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito show on 89.9. At 12 years old Arewhy met Ill Bill of Non-Phixion before they were called Non-Phixion they were called "Dead Celebrities" and Ill Bill told Arewhy if he wanted to listen to the greatest exclusive hip-hop to check out the 89.9 Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito show. There Arewhy heard the greatest hiphop ever and realized the road him and Thanos needed to go down. Arewhy at 12 years old and Thanos at 6 years old were already being put on the path to real hip-hop. Ill Bill also told Arewhy to make sure to check for Cannibal Ox cause they had that raw music that had to be heard. 15 years later Arewhy & Thanos are now producing for Vast Aire of Cannibal Ox. A few years after meeting Ill Bill, Arewhy acquired a job as a shipping manager with Necro's independent label Psycho Logical Records for 3 years and worked along side Necro every day and got to see the inside of the music business and learned lots of stuff from Necro and also got to meet lots of well established artist like Beatnuts, Craig Nice, Arsonist's, Cage, Mr. Hyde, Triple Seis of Terror Squad, Dj. Eclipse, Vinny Paz and many more. Arewhy got his name from being a graffiti artist in Sunset Park Brooklyn. Its actually a spelled out version of the letters "R" and "Y" making it read out Arewhy. He also goes by the name "Adam Warlock" at times. Thanos got his name from "Thanos of Planet Titan" from the Marvel comic books. One of the most powerful cosmic beings in the whole Marvel universe letting you know he aint playing when he brings his sound. Growing up in Sunset Park and moving to Van Dyke projects (Brownsville Brooklyn) and then moving to the Gowanus projects made them street savvy and very familiar with the struggle. Nothing was easy for Arewhy & Thanos. Once they realized hiphop was their path they started making beat's on the MTV Music Generator for Playstation One. People never took the time to learn this program cause they didnt have the patience for it but Arewhy & Thanos did. It gave them the basic layout and format for making beat's. Then they picked up the MTV Generator 2 and it gave them the capability to sample from more audio sources such as vinyl, cd's, tape's, dvd's, etc. Once they learned how to sample they were going up to radio shows and other artist's studios to shop their beat's around and the result was amazing! People thought they were making beats on Korg Tritons and Mpc.2000's. When they told them it was on a $50 program for a $150 gaming machine they lost their minds. From there it was ON! Arewhy & Thanos formed the Brother Hood as their camp. They called it Brother Hood cause they are 2 brother's from the hood and a Brother Hood is unity. The 603 comes from the block Brother Hood was formed on.. 60th street & 3rd ave in Sunset Park Brooklyn New York. There has been many people that have come and gone from the Brother Hood. Some were real, some were fake but never the less Arewhy & Thanos stood at the front lines and never stopped making bangers. The Brother Hood has produced many songs for Vast Aire, Genesis and other artist's such as Sadat X, Cappadonna, Karniege, Double AB, Kenyattah Black, Access Immortal, Dez-Matic, The Wordsmith's, The Aviator, Lost Soul, Joey Juggaknotts and many more.
