Your musical influences
Personal influences: Michael Herr, Wayne Schell, Doug Tidaback, Roger Vittitoe, Tony Trischka, and many more
Influences via recordings: Bela Fleck, John Hartford, and countless moreWhat equipment do you use?
Roger Vittitoe sets up both my banjos and built my main instrument, a 5-string archtop banjo older than I am.
I also use a Gold Tone CC model, with resonator removed, a synthetic skin head, and thicker strings, which I usually tune down between E and D and play without picks.
My guitar is an acoustic Washburn with a relatively shallow body.
