Rhyme Adam is Artist and President of Spyglass Records an Independant lable interested in the growth of hip hop and is destined to change the often used term "Industry Standard!"
Band/artist history
I been emceeing so long i've forgotten where it all started at but I can say this. I sold my first rhyme to this kid that i recited it for at fourteen as God is my witness. I dont really remember the content of the lyrics and truthfully couldn't fathom anyone wanting to buy something that I did. From there I went on to writing more and more and hooked up with this emcee from Compton, CA in tenth grade at Woodward Highschool in Toledo, Oh. We called ourselves The Law because we felt that hip hop was over saturated even back then and were against being labeled a trend. Since then I went on to make music with a group called Ride Inc which were a group of artists that saw a new direction in music by producing our own tracks. Since then Ride Inc has turned into Rideinconline.com which has really revolutionized the opportunities for hip hop artists and groups. Right now I really want to strike out on my own and have started Spyglass Records not only to get myself exposure but to realize my dreams.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I've played live when I was younger in local talent shows and from the first minute got hooked on the idea of live performance. Since then I've entered myself in Freestyle Open Mic contests and I am in the process of completing my long awaited debut album and plan to perform the album live for listeners.
Your musical influences
that's hard because theirs so many groups that have influenced me in positive ways. I guess I would have to start with my favorite emcee of all time then go down the line from there. KRS-ONE, Rakim, D.O.C., Mos Def, Common, Nas, Brave Hearts, Mr.Ree, "Memphis" Mac, Bully, Jaredon, Non Fictional, Sire, Channel Cats, Ghetto Boys, Coremega, Capone, Nore, De La Soul, and that's just hip hop
What equipment do you use?
various equipment these days but i'm going to tell you like a magician would that I can't reveal my secrets.
Anything else?
Adversity builds character
