Funk

In-House Band is a well established, Winchester based band. They specialise in Funk and Soul music, combining features from many styles to create their unique and varied sound. The name is usually shortened to the punchier "IHB" amongst fans.
Band/artist history
Again, there's no really interesting story here. We joined in college and practised hard for our first gig, backing music for a college drama production. From there we got a name for ourselves and soon picked up our trumpet player, Simon. We now practise with our main aim of spreading our music, hopefully getting some money and helping charity in the process.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We try to play live as often as possible, either for a small fee or just for publicity. We are in high demand at the moment for parties and are loving every gig we do, no matter how doomed they seem to begin with.
Your musical influences
So many...where to start? In terms of our overall sound, we have: Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Hotpants and Jamiroquai. We are also individually influenced by artists such as: Joss Stone, Lenny Kravitz, Marcus Miller, Jules Holland (who isn't?), JK and John Frusciante.
Anything else?
Anti Frispig of course....can't believe Brinley missed this out. Basically when we really should be practicing, we're often out hurling frisbees at each others heads on a trampoline. We took that simple concept and applied a ridiculously complicated points system to it to make it qualify as a sport rather than just violence
