With what can only be described as an amazing fusion of Melodic Southern Stoner Metal and Brutal Speed Death the band seem very happy in their shoes, drawing influences from the likes of Black Sabbath, Black Label Society, Slayer, Obituary, Dog Fashion Disco, and many, many more! With lyrics dealing with personal loss, religion, and the everyday stress of life, the band puts out aggression in ways never before heard. The guitars are wicked and fast, the bass is pounding and intense, the drums are cruel and merciless, and the vocals are mesmerizing from brutal to melodic in single breaths. BluDFeD is an experience in HEAVY music.
Band/artist history
From the ashes of the dead breeds life anew. This statement rings so true when describing BluDFeD, Roanoke’s newest, most intense metal outfit yet. The band has suffered through many lineup changes over the years and gone through many internal struggles to arrive at where they are today. It all started with vocalist, Zach “WyKyD” Emerson. He began the idea of what is now when his previous band, Among The Living, had finally disintegrated. Left with the remains of Among the Living, he looked to then guitarist, Michael "Muppet" Boyd, to help find a new, more intense, and more devoted group. He brought on long time friend Francesco "Stump" Lombardo to fill the position of 2nd guitarist and Aaron "Spaz" Bauomel to serve as drummer. Over time the band went through several bassists until finally stumbling upon Keith “Jesus” McIntosh and even added keyboardist Mike “Doogie” Grescham to the sound. With this new formula the band seemed it could only grow tighter and tighter, yet as time passed it seemed only tensions grew. For personal reasons, Muppet, Spaz, and Mike found themselves leaving the crew. Zach, Stump, and Keith, not willing to let BluDFeD die, moved on and recruited Tyler Hoover to pick up the Strings for the bands 2nd guitar spot. As songs began pouring out, it was obvious that the only thing needed to have the band alive and better than ever was a dedicated drummer. After months of searching, they gladly enlisted Servo, old band mate and friend, into the ranks of BluDFeD. Unfortunately Servo's committments to the military kept him from progressing with the band, so in August of 05 Phillip "Filthy" Hurt became the newest member of the BluDFeD Family. After a great early career BluDFeD has shared the stages with many of todays heavy hitters in the Metal scene like Six Feet Under, Gwar, Lamb Of God, All That Remains, Soilent Green, Goatwhore, Creamatorium, Dog Fahsion Disco, Every Time I Die, Darkest Hour, Cattle Decapitation, The Locust, Bile, Nocturne, Bongzilla, Dying Fetus, Still Breathing, Ringworm, Kataklysm, The Macabre, Rune, Skar Culture, Mortician, Full Blown Chaos, The Black Dahlia Murder and MANY MORE! BLuDFeD stands poised to take the reigns of the Roanoke Metal scene and step forward with their brothers in Doom Syndicate to bring Roanoke Metal to the Forefront of HEAVY METAL TODAY!
