Band/artist history
Paradice began without so much as a name with Louis Lamp writing music to soothe his own troubled mind, as stresses induced from the US Army and combat abroad needed a creative outlet, or help madness ensue. In 2004, his debut CD, An Open Mind was released and opened up to the public. Since then, he's gone from straight musician and songwriter, to music promoter, webmaster, and networker. Currently, he is working on nearly a dozen projects that are related to music and the music industry. Keep up to date on his website, Paradice Net.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I play live on a sporadic schedule, as times and locations must bend to my career in the US Army. Right now I play live in the South, and I enjoy playing on stage. Perhaps one of the most memorable moments was watching my life flash before my eyes as I stood atop a twelve foot ladder, atop a three-foot high platform on wheels as the Fiddler On The Roof. No safeties, no cushions. Just me, the air, and the stage that I thankfully never landed on.
Your musical influences
Many classical influences, funk, light jazz, Rick Wakeman, Gary Evans, and the soldiers and civilians of the US Army are my inspiration.
What equipment do you use?
I use a SB Audigy 2 with Cakewalk products for sound production. Goldwave is also used to do many of the same tasks without so much CPU tasking
Anything else?
I make it a habit to revel in dichotomy. It always pleases me to see conflict of some sort - whether it just be words and debate to a full-scale war (though I don't like the latter as much). If we all were to start thinking alike or agreeing with each other for convenience, then many sources of our creativity to fix problems in the world today would not only be diminished, but on a road to it's own, sad destruction. Just because two sides oppose each other doesn't give any validity to either of their points. Sometimes you have to look in yourself for the right answer.
