Smooth, engaging and enticing. The self-titled, debut album is produced and performed by the twenty-three year old singer, songwriter, pianist, and guitarist. Jeremiah's piano laced compositions offer a sound that is similar to but slightly beyond today's popular neo-soul flavor. With haunting melodies and delicate musical backdrops he paints a beautiful picture of love, loss, and longing. "There are a lot of great singers out there but I feel that it's important to use that talent to create innovative, original works that stimulate and intrigue your audience. Music is my life and my goal is to develop a sound that is unique but inviting."
As a child in Beaumont, Texas, Jeremiah David Tezeno decided that he was going to be a rock star. He admired bands like Guns & Roses and often ran through the house wearing a red bandana and using a broom as his guitar. After discovering groups like Jodeci and Mint Condition his attention turned to R&B. As he grew older he began to show an interest in piano and guitar, eventually teaching himself to play both by watching others and studying their performances. At the age of 13 he and a friend started an R&B group that lasted for 7 years and often changed members. However, within that time they did get the opportunity to open for many well-known acts including Jagged Edge and Public Announcement. After setting out to follow his own path Jeremiah David gained more experience by performing at various festivals and the Alpha's Black & Gold Pageant at the University of Houston. Since then he has opened for Avant, Profyle, Jagged Edge, Mickey Blue, Tony Thompson and others. He is also a regular performer at The Red Cat Jazz Cafe (Houston, TX).
Recently I've been performing at a regular poetry/soul/fusion event over in Beaumont, TX which is nice. The artists are very talented and Nyne Four Entertainment gives it a professional feel while at the same time giving it a feeling of community.
Jeremiah cites influences that range from Sade, Maxwell, and Brian McKnight to Ben Harper, John Lennon and his "all-time favorite" Thom Yorke of Radiohead.
