Walking the fine line between commercial and underground, meet Trek, Swift, and Jerreaucollectively known as Basic Element.
Considered one of hip-hops premiere up & coming groups, according to Alternative Media Magazine, Basic Element reign from the Midwest. The three of them all grew up on the East Side of Columbus, OH rapping together while entertaining their fellow peers in school as well as in church. All three of these young men are natural born entertainers who have developed the chemistry on stage that seems to just simply amaze their audience. This chemistry caught the eye of Longevity Entertainment, when they first saw the group perform at Columbus’s big Hip-Hop expo in 2000.
Just one glimpse at these guys’ performance and you'll understand why this group is called Basic Element. They truly represent the “basic elements” of hip-hop: the art of emceeing, creativity, lots of energy and crowd motivation. These three distinct and equally skilled emcees merge their talents to create a unique, urban sound. Although often referred to as a new millenium rendition of popular groups such De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, and even the Pharcyde, their individual delivery of rhymes can be compared to some of today’s lyrical greats. Make no mistake: Basic brings their very own style of hip-hop to the table, a sound that's already earned them much recognition in their hometown. You can catch a sneak preview of Basic, featured Monday thru Saturday at 6pm on one of Columbus’ premiere radio stations WCKX 107.5, where they introduce the “All Night Flavor Show” with the Columbus anthem.
With their combination of impromptu acts, musical artistry, and just overall fun music, these guys truly enjoy their music and set a positive example for the direction of the hip-hop industry. When you go to a Basic show, you’re going to be entertained!
