The Colieda project began during the late summer of 2003. As previous bands in which the Colieda memebers were involved with faded away, Andew Stefano, Chase Mateusiak, and Patrick Dunn began their own project which consisted of tunes that had been in the works for some time. While Matt was still not officially with the band, he played drums for one tune, a tune called Guiding Light. This song was far more than Colieda's first song; it was a tribute to a great friend of the band, Branden Wyman. Without Branden, this band would not exist, as it was his passing that brought us all so close together. Thus began the band known as Colieda, consisting of Partick Dunn (viola, vocals, guitar), Matthew Hucul (drums and percussion), Chase Mateusiak (bass), and Andrew Stefano (guitar, vocals). As time came and went in the autumn months of 2003, the band seemed to have vanished as quickly as it had formed, but with a formal invite to Matt, the band began writing in Andrew's basement again. After only their first couple of practices, The Egyptian Song and Concerto in E were written, molded and sculpted into the works you hear today. With that said, the band continued to write enough material to play a few live gigs. While pensive and uneasy about the potentional mixed reaction of their audience, the band relied on friends ands family to spread the word about them. With only a handful of practices under their belt(s), the band played their first full show at the Ramada Inn of Midland on January 10, 2004. From there, the band proceeded to lay down a few tracks for an EP album, which was recorded to get the word out about the band. The band played for all of summer to save up money to record a five song EP. They then went into the studio to lay down the tracks. finishing the album just a couple of weeks before they all went off to college, Colieda got to play a few shows with the new CD. Now Colieda is off at college and playing shows whenever they can. The band looks forward to the summer when they can play nonstop.
