Smooth...Guttural...Sexy...Wicked...
Old-school R&B, funk with a twist of soul, acid jazz and rock. This is a sound you'll feel in your gut.
You can expect WUNJO to give you fresh takes on unexpected covers such as I Wish (Stevie Wonder), Let's Get It On (Marvin Gaye), Sweet Little Lass (Dag), Come Together (The Beatles), Driven To Tears (The Police), Roxanne (The Police), Young Girls Are My Weakness (The Commodores) and Don't Change Horses (Tower of Power).
WUNJO originals include You Is All You Ever Think About, You Got It, Do You Wanna Be My Woman?, For 24 and Somewhere - all anchored onto the idea of change, groove and movement.
WUNJO's basically a mix of various musicians from the older underground music scene to the present. You got Ian Umali on guitar and Mally Paraguya on bass - both formerly of POT. Vic Facultad's the vocalist - formerly of Indio I (12 years in the scene...). Then, there's Jay Gapasin (drummer from Radioactive Sago Project) and Tom Vinoya (keyboardist from Wajihuara). Really interesting mix.
Yup. Several gigs in the past (Summerplace, Boracay Holy Week 2005, Absinth Mondays) but we play regularly at CHAKIK's City Golf Plaza across Valle Verde 3 (Julia Vargas Ave.) every Friday. It's a smoking bar and great for chillin' out. Then, every first Thursdays of each month, we're at 70s Bistro along Anonas.
Special moments? Hmmm....MTV VJ Finals at Le Pavillion...the Clark Music Fest...World Pyro Olympics 2005...lots of good memories since 2004. For 2006, it was a great experience to be part of the Philippine International Jazz Festival at the Harbor Square, CCP Complex, Manila (Jan 21) and Fete dela Musique at the SM Mall of Asia this past June 30.
Too many to mention.
