Catharsis Catharsis

Hmmm... As it suggests, a bit of a personal catharsis. I like the little acoustic diddleing in the middle however.

To the Eternal Optimist... (Megan's song) To the Eternal Optimist... (Megan's song)

An acoustic track, at least 4 guitar tracks in the mix, but that's it. bare bones but it still sounds full. It was something I didn't want to leave unfinished..

Acoustic Guitar

U-show U-show

This is a fairly mellow song, kind of a loose jam thing. There are some things in it reminiscent of Floyd and RHCP later work. Chris Hillier does the excellent drum work, and John House both produced and did the Bass for us, thanks a lot man.

I'm Sorry I'm Sorry

This is a fairly lengthy acoustic offering. I loved playing it, and there's a few bright spots, I might shorten it up later on, I just kind of sat down and played you know? anyway, here it is.

Acoustic Guitar

Introduction to me. I'm roughly 6', 175-180 lbs, blue-grey eyes, I enjoy long walks on the beach and Chicken bacon Ranch wraps at subway. I'm not serious. I'm a proud Canadian, a proud musician, and a proud Idealist. I never really follow conventional paths when it comes to anything, and I have a lot more respect for those who speak their minds than for those who announce loudly the opinions of others.
Band/artist history
When I was in grade 9 I used to go over to my buddies house and we'd play really bad music with just the drums and guitar, or take turns doing the solo's in metallica songs. haha Eventually we Formed a band with whoever we could find to play with us so we could do a show, unfortunatly I had laryngitis and it never went well. That changed into a band with a lineup that went through a couple of changes but never went anywhere, writing a total of 1 original song. We went our seperate ways and there were no bad feelings. haha Right now I'm with some other guys and were having fun getting together and jamming although I'd love to start doing some more original material.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I have played live several Times and it is a rush. As it is right now it's been High school talent shows, pep rallies, and Cd release shows with my old band, but I really look forward to moving out and playing the clubs when I'm of age. Playing music for people is always special, no matter where or when, if it wasn't why bother?
Your musical influences
Well, my personal preference has always been pretty wide, with nothing really excluded but Rap and country music. Lately the bands that I just like to listen to or jam out to are 90's rock bands in no particular order; Foo fighters, Big Wreck, Pearl Jam, Matt Good Band, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Audioslave, Stone Temple Pilots, Collective Soul, Weezer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fuel, Incubus. and probably some more mainstream bands I havn't mentioned.
What equipment do you use?
I use a Line 6 amplifier, a Simon and patrick luthier acoustic guitar, Fender squier hunk of crud electric, and A digitech effects pedal.
Anything else?
anything at all? Go get yourself an ex-girlfriend, emphasis on the EX. They are great things for writing angst-y music. Also, I recommend getting current girlfriends, because you can't write angst-y music all the time. But make sure if all the stuff you're writing is getting too sappy, dump her, because angst is always good.
