Eye of the Sun is a Boston based Doom/Goth metal band. Our sound is a bit hard to describe, but you could start by slowing down melodic Swedish Death acts like In Flames, adding clean vocals and a strong goth influnence. Basically we just like dark and melodic music.Band/artist history
Eye of the Sun formed in September 2004 with the original intent of playing a halloween party. That's right... We pulled it together just to rock out on our favorite holiday! Brandon and Mr. Fucky happen to work together, and hatched the idea. The first set was a big success, but how could it not be... it was nearly all Misfits covers! We did one original (Another Time Another Place). At this halloween set Mr. Fucky was actually on bass, with Brandon doing guitar and vocals. Joey, of course, was hammering away on the drums. We had so much fun and worked together so well, that we decided to keep it together and write much more original material, for the purpose of drenching the Boston scene with Doom/Goth (think Candlemass meets Sentenced, after going to a Moonspell show... although we still do the occasional metalized 80's punk or new wave cover ). Soon after halloween Jenn took over the bass responsibilities, freeing up Mr. Fucky to move over to guitar (his first love). Currently we're writing more and more material, playing as many shows as possible, and gearing up to go into the studio to record a 5 track demo. Our material is hard to describe, but it definitely draws on the influence of doom bands like Candlemass, old school metal like Iron Maiden, and goth metal acts like Sentenced and Moonspell.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yeah, we play live. Mostly around the Boston area, but we are playing at CBGB soon. We love that. It's what we live for!

Candlemass, Black Sabbath, Dio, The Misfits, Danzig, Type O Negative, Christian Death, Sisters of Mercy... Basically any dark melodic doom, goth, or punk bands. We also listen to a ton of old school death and black metal.What equipment do you use?
