Welcome to UnReality....Meet your host UnRealBand/artist history
On April 22nd 1980 Vernon Harris was born in Panama City, Florida. His father, an avid music listener, exposed him to all types of music. Thus began the foundation for his love of music. At age nine Vernon and his family moved to Baltimore, his father’s hometown. It was in Baltimore that Vernon’s love of music became a passion and he began harboring serious ambitions to become a recording artist.
In 1994, Vernon formed a rhyming duo with high school friend, Roxy Warner, named Wyse-n-Qwest. After winning a few talent shows Vernon’s father informed his nephew who at the time was a popular local recording artist known as Mr. Motts. Motts took them under his wing and Wyse-n-Qwest went on to become founding members of the Baltimore hip-hop group, The Afiliashun.
In 1996, The Afiliashun released an EP entitled "It’s Time". The EP had much critical acclaim. Despite the Afiliashun’s large roster, Wyse-n-Qwest’s song not only made the EP, but was one of the most popular songs. The song "Who’s This" got spins on 92Q and 88.9's hip-hop show, as well as feature spots on local DJ’s mixtapes.
Soon after, The Afiliashun split and Wyse-n-Qwest would go on to work on a solo project. It was during the recording process that the two would go their separate ways. Wyse than joined a clique formed by ex-Afiliashun member Verbal, named Live Wire. It was while in Live Wire, that Verbal re-named Wyse Unreal due to his almost unreal ability to rhyme about anything, but after a contract dispute, Unreal left.
While working on his solo project, Unreal began work with BUTTER Entertainment. His work with BUTTER Entertainment led to mixtape collaboration entitled STAR BAGS, which features Unreal on four tracks. The mixtape was passed out locally and in the DC area, and was met with some acclaim.
Currently Unreal is working on his album project entitled "Welcome 2 Unreality volume 1". Also, he is recording a string of freestyles for the mixtape "Real Talk vol. 2", which is a means of self-promotion. He has performed at local venues such as 5 Seasons and Fletchers to promote “Real Talk vol. 1” and generate a local buzz. UnReal has also participated in numerous battle competitions such as Mic Wars 1 & 2, Soul 2 Soul, Fresh Fest, and Style Warz.
Though relatively unknown to the consumers, Unreal has many connections within the local Baltimore music scene. His current and future projects feature collaborations with Blaze Battle finalist Tate the Arsenal, up and coming talent Buddha Blastoff, local artists Tim D.O.G. and Chae Fontaine, as well as sought after R&B artist Tamara, and local singing talent Jeneba Suma, and Spitters Club members, Shaka Pitts and B-Rip. Production credits for his current release, “Real Talk vol.1” go to Reggie Ruckus of Track Star Productions, local talent and Ruff Ryder affiliate B-ill, Real On Purpose CEO Wink, and up and coming producer Top Secret of So Serious Productions.
Due to his underground roots Unreal’s style has an unmistakable East Coast sound, but mixed with a Southern twang and a Baltimore influence. He is a current free-agent with the talent to perform up to high expectations and is ready to tackle the entire entertainment industry.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes. Baltimore
