One Brown Shoe was formed in 1988 as the brainchild of Mike O'Moore (bass, vocals), Barry Moermond (guitar, vocals), and John Faxon (drums, percussion). Knowing they would never get famous playing other peoples' songs, the group penned a number of original songs, resulting in the 1991 self-release of "Basement Flies", their premier CD. After a few lineup changes over the years, Russ Bowman (keyboards, vocals) and Vince Homan (guitar) joined the group in 1992. A steady outpouring of fresh originals led to the recording of "Through The Curved Glass" in 1995. The music of One Brown Shoe meets the definition of the "Cincinnati Sound" by the diversity alone.
