Time to Believe Time to Believe
RMG Entertainment founder/composer/producer Darryl Taylor is set to release his debut CD, I Believe, through his own record label, RMG Entertainment. The CD features original songs Taylor has written, sung, recorded and self-produced at his recording studio in Kelowna, during the past four months.
After spending a year producing an album for soon-to-be internationally released singer-songwriter, Keri Crossley, Taylor turned his attention to literally finding his voice after a 12-year singing hiatus. The resulting album features strong melodic pop oozing with optimism and a message of hope often lost in todays music.
Once I re-discovered my voice, I also re-connected with an old friend who inspired me to write these powerful songs, says Taylor. And over the course of about four months, the entire process snowballed and turned into an album I simply didnt even see coming.
And now Im finding that I cant wait to get out there and perform these songs live for people.
From his early days of playing keyboards in the New Age band, Invisible Sun, to his current presence at the helm of RMGe, Taylor has always worked to merge creativity and technology into a cohesive musical expression. As a Rossland teenager, Taylor was fascinated with the convergence of music and technology. His early experiments with an assortment of keyboards, synthesizers and cassette players later drove him to become an electronic musician and producer whose groundbreaking work fused music with computer technology and video.
Utilizing his creative and computer skills, Taylor sought to build a company that would create music and sound for motion pictures, video games, corporate adverts as well as produce independent artists. With the advent of the Internet, he found the perfect media outlet for his vision. RMGe has become the embodiment of Taylors vision. He built the company around a team of musically savvy people and technically astute creators. Today, the same passion that first drew a teenage Taylor to music and technology is at the core of RMGe. In the summer of 2002, the company moved its operations to the pristine setting of Borgata Lodge, located next to Quail Ridge Golf Resort in Kelowna.
I now have this amazing place from which to create music. I mean, how many people can look up from their computer and see a lake and mountains? And if I get tired of working, I just step outside and Im on a golf course, he laughs. I feel very fortunate.
Time to Believe and Hearts Symphony are already on regular rotation on Giant FM in the South Okanagan. A band is now in the works with touring dates set for the spring.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes
