Deep from the bowels of Chicago’s South Side lurks one of the rawest MC’s that have clutched a microphone. Hip Hop world brace yourself for the FOUL 1 L.O.R.D. Shrewd, an Englewood rapper that combined Ghetto street pain with a dark sense of humor. The L.O.R.D in his name stands for Lyricist Of Raw Dialect, which was given to him by rap peers for his fearless and unforgiving rhymes, that is not for the meek of Heart. Shrewd is for the cleaver way he says the most Evil and Harsh but comical lines that will even make a nun laugh. Add a massive 6’2 400lbs frame with a voice of an angry Lion and you have a stunning stage presents that demands the attention of Hip Hop and hardcore lovers every where.
Life wasn’t easy growing up in Englewood. Lord Shrewd was raise in a one parent home (mother) with two siblings (older sister and brother) with financial hardship. Not to mention a hood that was infested with drugs, gangs, killers and hungry stick-up fiends. Instead of complaining, falling victim and becoming a statistic, L.O.R.D Shrewd went another path when he met a high school rival by the name of Rap Master. That later on became an ally and introduced L.O.R.D Shrewd to Hip Hop and rapping. They formed a crew called Chicago Choice Crew, which later they became Too Def Too Die. Do to personal reasons Rap Master left the crew and L.O.R. D. Shrewd became a solo artist and never looked back.
Since then he put out two independent CD’s (Who is L.O.R.D. Shrewd in 1994, and Chi Nigga in 2002). Shrewd had a record deal with Straight Game Records in 1997, but due to unforeseen events the label folded. He has also appeared on a compilation album called “Real Hip House” produced by Farley Jack Master Funk in 1991. He performed with the likes of Twister, R. Kelly, Naughty by Nature, and MC Eight. Shrewd hosted many hip hop shows and performed at the South Shore Cultural Center. Shrewd also performed at many positive events including but not limited to the Coke Cola and Miller Lite Say No to Drugs Fests. Will be featured in LOP Artist Search Yahoo Group as artist of the month, for the month of February 2005. He will be releasing his third forthcoming independent CD titled F.O.U.L DA ALBUM in mid-2005 on Husoultainment Records.
