Built to last in 2003, Caidema is shoving its way to the front line with one goal in mind: to aggressively change the face of heavy music as you know it. Known for their unique fusion of Hard Rock, Hardcore and Heavy Metal, they've been compared to bands such as Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Hatebreed, Lamb of God, Machine Head, Chimaira, and more. Having spent years building their craft, Caidema (pronounced, Kay-Deh-Muh) comes strong with their original style of raw aggression mixed with emotion, melody and relentless brutality. Music so fresh sounding it has people wondering where it came from and where they can get more.
Guitarist Matthew Albano and drummer Patrick Cistulli formed Caidema in the winter of 2003. They quickly began work on the songs that they would hope to play for the rest of their lives, while ignoring the current trend of music and writing music from the heart. After a long search and struggle, Caidema found a singer by the name of Matthew Beausoleil from Southbridge, Massachusettes. With his wide range of vocal and lyric writing abilities, Matt creates an unstoppable singing force. In the summer of 2004 bassist David Hoyt joined the band after hearing about us through a friend and has added an incredible drive to the sound of Caidema.
In November 2004 Caidema played their very first show to an exciting reaction. People who had never heard of the band fell in love and wanted to know where they could get more. "Unbelievable sound guys. I'll surely try and get to one of your shows." said MySpace.com user 'Mike'. Immediately the band cut its first demo, working with studio engineer Scott Genereau of Aliehn Productions (Bristol, CT). Having received immediate responses from several people for more material and shows, the band quickly started planning and playing more shows at such places as the Berlin Polish Club and the Webster Theater in Hartford, playing with such bands as Entombed, Crowbar, and Cryptopsy to rave reviews. The band currently has more shows lined up for the future with such bands as New Found Glory, Mudvayne, The Murder Junkies, and American Head Charge thanks to the attention from the manager at the Webster Theater who rarely puts new bands on the bill with national acts. He was truly impressed with Caidema.
With 2005 off to a blazing start and a busy schedule of writing, recording and touring ahead of them, this is a working band in its purest form.
Be forewarned that an unstoppable virus-like machine has formed, an underground army is being built and it's coming your way soon. In a time when you can't trust others to protect you, the Caidema Army is gaining strength in numbers, and they won'tt stop for causalities along the way.Have you performed in front of an audience?We play anywhere we can, Webster Theater, Polish Clubs...etc.
