I am 22 years old, and I'm attending college majoring in music education. I collaborate with other songwriters and write songs that are in my heart and mind. I am a one man band using multitrack recording to help share my music with everyone.Band/artist history
I am Robert Eckhardt. I have been playing music of some kind for 12 years. I started out playing percussion in 5th grade band, moved onto trumpet in 6th grade, then euphonium in 7th grade, and finally tuba in 8th grade in marching band. I learned to play bass & guitar outside of school. Currently, I am going to college and music education as my major; however, in high school I joined a band. In the band, I played bass. We lasted for a few years. We recorded a few songs "professionally", and we all grew apart. After that I joined another band with some friends that were in the concert band too. I played bass in this band in a rock Christian band, and that lasted until I got to college. While I was in these bands, I wrote some songs on my own within the last 5 years. I did not share these songs because I thought that they were not good enough for anyone else to hear. While watching VH1, I heard that Aerosmith said in order to get new ideas that they did some collaboration with other songwriters. After hearing this, I joined some internet sites for songwriters willing to share their songs and get positive feedback. After submitting some songs, I got some great feedback and have collaborated with a few people. I really don't want popularity or fame from having this page. I just wanted to share my music with others that I have been hiding for all these years.Have you performed in front of an audience?Not at the moment. I would have to create a backup band or just create a music track to sing to like karoke.
Your musical influences
Some influences are Maroon 5, Incubus, and all styles of rock.What equipment do you use?
I use a drum machine for drums, Squire Strat, Rogue 5 string bass, a good microphone, a mixing board, computer, and multitrack recording.
