Old Puppy plays obscure music in a down home way and makes exotica out of standards. We use ukuleles where possible and sing when necessary.Have you performed in front of an audience?We finally have a steady, every Saturday morning at Nabolom Bakery in Berkeley. We like when firends and good players drop by to play along on a few tunes. We have never heard a band like ours before, and we try not to let on that we think it's really special. But we do.

For live shows we favor the new RISA uke solid electric ukes from Germany. I've settled on WORTH strings for my concert scale instruments; Billy is still searching for the right strings for his baritone and tenor scale axes.Anything else?
We try not to put the word ukulele on anything - people tend to imagine the worst. We're all about the groove, and we like to play the melody at least once per tune. We've been improvising for so long we're no longer that impressed with it.Contact
