Band/artist history
As a little boy i played a lot with my home computer that my daddy bought for me. Especially with the sounds, at that time you easely could keep up with the software and i had all the avaible sound programs. A lot of my time after school i played around with the 3-voice sound processor in my MSX home computer, you can imagine that my parents weren't happy with me! :-) I made a lot of sound disks and once i tryed to make the song "Beat It!" from michael jackson on my MSX! :-) After long years of delivering newspapers at the door early in the morning i finally bought my first PC. It was a 80886 IBM Compatible from commodore, the first months i used all of my time understanding the darn machine. The options where limited, and it seemed that the this pc was not a lot of fun. I only had a speaker for sound, and i only could play one tune at a time. After a while i was getting the hang of it, i started to program in GW-Basic. In this little program language i learned a lot about the computer, also i discovered a little trick, so i could use several voices at once with the pc speaker! I started to expiriment again with sound and made a lot of new music, i saw that there where more and more options avaible. I made 3 complete music disks of 360 KB each! Blood, sweat & tears and i finally could buy my first 486 Machine! Wow! This was it i thought at that time! But there was still a problem, i only had a pc squeeker! :-) Once i read a magazine where you could build your own low-budget LPT-port sound card! This was called the DAC (Digital Analog converter). I blew up some speakers, but what the hack i could make my first MOD file's with 4 Channels at 16 KHZ! The sky was the limit, or 16 KHZ was the limit! :-) I created lot's of cut and paste MOD files from cd's. Not very creative, but what the hack i just discovered this great way of making music! Practise, Practise, Practise! And i learned lots more! Than the sound cards became cheaper and cheaper! Until one day my eye fell on the Pro Audio Spectrum 16 Plus! Yes not a cheap one, but i wanted the best at that time. I bought the darn thing, with sweat in my hands i opened my computer and put the brand new sound card in my computer! Installation was smooth and it almost worked immedialetely, except some games would not work with the sound card. The old MOD file creater i used was not good enough, so i tried "Scream Tracker". Way Cool, i thought. I used this program for a year and made lot's of better s3m (Mod compatible) files. Than i met a friend who used Fast Tracker! Ofcourse i made a copy and used it the very same day! A way cool program whit a good user interface, here my real creativity tour starts. I had a lot of basic knowledge from the old Mod creater and Scream Tracker, so i only had to learn the volume and the special effects within Fast Tracker. But i had a compatibility limitation, i could not use a higher sample rate than 22 KHZ within fast tracker! Than my first Pentium computer came, and i bought a sound blaster 16, finally everything works just the way i like it! I could dump audio data into fast tracker and use 44 Khz Sample rate within Fast Tracker. I created (at least i think so) good tracks, that you would listen to. So here i am today still addicted to music, but music in my way. I hope that i have a Dj.DataStream Style.
