Boyd and Mike got together in 2000. They jammed together on guitar and bass for a while. Then they decided to start a band. It was just those two for the longest time. Until August of 2002. They had to pull a band out of their bums for their upcoming live show. They got Steve (bassist of Half Decent) to fill in on drums and Dane to wail on the mic. Steve proved unreliable and flaky. Much like George Clooney in Oh Brother, Where art Thou?...they were in a tight spot. Mike brought in fellow guitarist Ryan to play bass while Boyd took up some drumsticks. This is the line-up they had for the show. They tried to record shortly after this, but Ryan could never show up. So they used what little time they had remaining to do one song with Boyd on bass and drums. The other two filled in their regular positions. The song was "Social Disease". After that, the band went on hiatus for about 4 months and then got back together with Zack on drums. Dane stepped back from the mic to play bass while Boyd picked up an electric guitar to play rhthym and sing. This was to be the line-up for, most foreseeably, a long time.
Well that long time turned out to be only SOME times. Alot of times Zach is busy with different things (being 15 as he is) so we gotta new 18 year old drummer to fill in when Zach can't make it. We shall call him Hoop. or Poop...
We have now decided not to maintain a permanent drummer at this point; seeing as how we've had a different one at each show we've done. oh well. As of right now, No-Name is Boyd, Mike, and Dane; some times featuring a drummer.
In December os 2004, No-Name finally got to work recording their debut album "Untitled". Creative differences had been worked out months or years ago seeing as how that's when all the songs were written. There was hardly any tension in the studio and I think the team effort really shows on this album. The album was released on February 22, 2005 by Wench Music. You can now get your own copy for $2 by contacting the band at c827b@cs.comHave you performed in front of an audience? We play live whenever the opportunity arises. We've had excellent turn outs for every show we've done so far.
Your musical influences
We dig Metallica. We've strayed from their teaching a bit over the years, but they still have some influence on what we do. You can definitely hear it in our early stuff, though. Also, our vocal harmonies have alot of influence from Taproot. What equipment do you use?
Boyd: Jackson KH-WB (custom) / Hamer JH-WB (custom)
Mike: LTD F-250/ Jackson Dinky (the good kind)
Dane: Yamaha RBX-5/ Peavey T-40Anything else?
