Blush came together to identify an expression of worship for the alternative culture. The name, Blush, was a shortened variation of The Blushing Bride, a ministry to alternative people. We have played at a number of venues including two outdoor festivals.
The Lord has shown us that there are lots of people who want to be rock stars but not many who are just willing serve and play worship, so He led us to set a restriction that someone couldn't join the group until they been in the worship band for 6 months.
The concept for the music we do is this: - If the Holy Spirit could play the guitar, what would it sound like? That then became the task of the guitarist, to so totally surrender that the Holy Spirit could play almost unhindered through Him, and so on for each band member. Then, if each band member is individually surrendered to the Holy Spirit, He would be able to knit it all, into an incredible spontaneous, prophetic song. As we tried this, we found that there were some times when it sounded like absolute chaos (when were not in the Spirit) but there were other times when we began to move in the Spirit, and it would flow and weave into this incredible awesome song, that was beyond us.
We believe that God's heart for alternatives is abundantly large. Out of His compassion He has given us music with the capacity to tap into the subculture. Many of us come from that culture and have been called to be a catalyst for the truth within it. Our goal is to have music that will bring healing, deliverance, encouragement, conviction, warning and warfare. To this end, we have taken some of the parts from these spontaneous times and put them together in a number of the songs. Our desire has always been to impress an audience of One, the Giver of the music. We honor the Lord through the worship He has freely given us.Contact
