I started DJing more than a decade ago and beat making naturally came soon after . I had a group called ILLType that I produced & did cuts for in upstate New York . ILLType was part of a collective known as Type:Official that now features artists : Broadway, Nittie Jux & DJ Majic .Have you performed in front of an audience?I DJ at a wide variety of venues . I love doing shows . Some special moments I've had were being able to open up DJing for Talib Kweli, Erykah Badu, Dead Prez, and The Pharcyde to name a few (thanks to my man Profile) .
Your musical influences
Daily life mostly . But as far as artists go I appreciate Pete Rock, GangStarr, Jay Dee, Madlib, Mobb Deep, De La Soul, Frank Zappa . . . . the list could go on & on .What equipment do you use?
I use a set of Tech 1200's, a Vestax mixer, an MPC 2000, and a ton of vinyl .Anything else?
