Mr. Marcus Aka Da Prez....Get to know meBand/artist history
What up people my name is Mr. Marcus and I am currently living In Greenville North Carolina attending East Carolina University. For the last 4 years I have lived in Northern Italy, but now I'm back. I arrived back in the U.S. August 2nd 2004. I have been working in Studios all across Italy, and at the age of 17 I recorded my first track, "Da Hustle". Well now I'm 22 and the ride since then, has been extremely exciting. In the year of 2003 I Formally met with the rapper and producer Ruff Life. Since then, we have come together to create the group and label by the name of "Exel" which also includes the members Dame, Strix, Inko, and the R&B singer Jordan and we cant forget the down South phenomenon, Spank. Most of our time was spent in the studio by day producing music and in the club by night performing live shows. In July of 2004 Exel performed live on Italian national T.V "Italia UNO", as well as Live Radio 105. We performed in the Piazza Milano in front of a crowd which exceeded 10,000 people. After signing a few autographs and talking with a few potential sponsors we was escorted to the notorious Club, "Hollywood". There we performed at one of the best parties I have ever been to in my life. If you have ever had the opportunity of attending this night club you would know that Hollywood is the club that all the major contenders attend while staying in Milan, Such As The G-unit click, Roc-a-fella, Black Eyed Peas, and Christina Aguilera. If you aint on the guest list you aint getting in. Two weeks later Exel opened up for Lord Tariq and Peter Gunzs in Club Casanova in Venice, reppin the Bronx hard baby. There they performed a few old songs as well as a couple of songs from their much anticipated new album. Also in September of 2004 Exel performed with D12 at Club Alcatraz in Milan Well after a lot of hard work and dedication to hip Hop Exel has appeared on and hosted many radio shows through out Europe. We have also been offered many production deals from many clients, but we are currently working with a few anonymous investors. Even though we have been apart of the underground scene for the last couple of years, Our group albulm is set to hit stores all through out Europe in Late January of 2005. We are looking at recording the first music video for the label some time in 2005, with Hype Williams. Recently i had the chance to hit up the 719 where I collabed with good friend Yiz aka, Yizzy be Buzzy. (Thanks Rico). We recorded a track, and he laced me with a few sick beats, so you can expect Yiz to be touring with us in the near future out in Italy. In December 2004 me and my team that i put together are due to fly back to Italy as well as England and France to finalize contracts and meet with Lawyers. Also models that we acquired through My-space are flying back in Decemeber also.
