One label that does stick to Quiana, however, might be charismatic. On her upcoming debut album, I Play The MIC, Quiana takes listeners on an emotional journey that, speeds into their soul and loops around their hearts. This project is bound to be nothing short of an instant R&B classic that transcends time. Stunning and graceful in her stage presence, Quiana exhibits a city-girl flavor for music fused in with a delectable Caribbean girls charm. Quiana can be all at once sassy and demure, religious and sexy. And the audience is all the better for watching Quiana work her magic. I dont have any reservations about singing R&B, says Quiana, who sings in the church choir in Danbury, Connecticut.
Poetry and singing has always been a big part of Quianas life. In fact, it would be hard to find such a truthful, poetic peek into the mind of a young woman whos seen more than maybe anyone needs to see. I got serious about writing poetry when I was 13, Quiana says. It was the only way I could remain sane. Born in Queens, NY to a single mom and three siblings, Quiana experienced a childhood filled with hardships. Being raised by a single parent in addition to being the eldest child, forced me to grow up really fast; I had to play a major role in the household. I started writing poetry as an outlet that wasnt self-destructive.
On I Play The MIC, Quiana transforms those experiences into passionate songs that opens the heart, feeds the mind, and deepens the soul. In the song titled Dreamin, produced by Jus Music for MusicLife Production, Quiana uses metaphors to describe the adversity she encounters and how she prevails. Sometimes it only takes one experience to make a person realize their destiny. Seeing my mom struggle early but still manage to become successful gave me more motivation to do what I wanted to do, which was to sing, Quiana says. That experience taught me that I didnt need to put singing on the shelf; that I could sing for a living and be successful.
Possessing all the qualities for stardom beauty, charm, grace and talent, Quiana is poised to lure you into her world of music. She aspires to be in the category of those who raise the bar in the music industry. So what does the future hold for Quiana? I want to sing for the rest of my life, she says. I want to be doing this for as long as I can, until I have nothing left to give. Until that day arrives, Quiana will be sharing her most intimate music moments with you.
