Steady On plays a dynamic selection of pop Christian music ranging from folk acoustic ballads to aggressive pop rock. With an ever present acoustic guitar and vocal harmonies in their songs, the group has a distinct, if diverse, sound. The songs are all based on personal spiritual experiences of the band members who seek to share them with others as a form of encouragement.Band/artist history
The band's genesis came when Jeff and Angel Sylvester started recording a CD of some music Jeff had written in previous bands. Since much of the material relied on three part harmony they began a search for a third vocalist. A few individuals sang with the group during this time and the group started playing live in order to tighten up for the recording process. Though originally conceived of as a demo, when the project expanded to a full CD Jeff wrote new songs that would end up comprising about half of the tracks on the CD. Gabe and Joe, along with a drummer, joined at this time to support the band live. After the original drummer left, Paul, an old friend of Jeff and Angel's who lived in Houston, joined up to record the CD and later joined the band full time. Finally, toward the end of the recording process, the band settled on Glenna as the third vocalist and she helped finish the CD. The band now enjoys a solid, if small, local following in San Antonio and is branching out to other cities in Texas. Their CD was released on Dec 3rd, 2004 after a year and a half of recording.Have you performed in front of an audience?Steady On plays at churches and other Christian venues. Your musical influences
Caedmon's Call is probably the group most people say we sound like, though certainly some of our songs are very non-CC sounding. However, our love of three part harmony and acoustic driven music naturally gives us the Caedmon's Call sound. What equipment do you use?

Hi!
Great and beautiful music. Keep up the good work.
Greetings from a little Island in Norway.
Hey guys, I really like your stuff; I included "Hold me down" on my soundclick radio station. That song has a great message, and I love the sound.
This is David Herring, leadsinger/songwriter from Room 212, Check out our song "Keepin' Hope Alive" , it's a prayer from my son's hospital room as he lie in a coma after being hit by a car going 50 miles per hour. He's doing great now, it's been three years, he had to relearn how to walk, talk, eat, etc.. now he's even playing the drums God is good!
I'm going to listen to some more of your stuff, let me know what you think about our stuff as well; you would probably like Keepin Hope Alive, and Live Strong..
God bless,
David
