This country singer/songwriter is the best and most honest person to hit the country music scene since George Strait himself. The quality he possesses shows in his writing and his voice. He plays guitar with equal ability. This man and his songs have to be heard, it would be criminal to keep his talents locked away! Listen to him sing and you will know what I mean!Band/artist history
Greg has been singing and performing in public since almost the day he got his first guitar.
The first band he was in was named “BLUE HORIZON” and was based in
Warren, Illinois. The band played early folk music, pop, and a ‘little’ country. Greg got
his first recognition for his songwriting efforts with this band in a competition in Winslow
Illinois the band took first place with a song, “Time In A Window” which Greg co-wrote
with another band member.
After high school Greg joined his first true country band, “JASON STONE AND THE
TUMBLEWEEDS”. This popular northern Illinois band played all the big venues in
Illinois and Wisconsin and appeared weekly in a local country radio opry show until the
lead singer decided to move to Nashville to pursue his career.
With the drummer and bass player from the Tumbleweeds, Greg formed the
“TAILSPIN BAND”. An outlaw country band which played everything from Waylon to Van
Halen. This band became and instant regional success and released three
locally popular singles. They also appeared on several radio shows and were booked
regularly on TV in Clinton Iowa as local favorites. The band also opened some summer
shows for singers Sylvia and for Crystal Gayle.
After the Tailspin band, the bass player and Greg decided to make a national tour and
formed “BLAZER”. With this group they toured extensively in the western united states
for about five years before family illnesses caused Greg and the bassist to come home.
Greg spent the next several years reflecting on his life on the road and writing new songs
both by himself and with a co-writer from New York. The result was a
published song that is being used in a Nashville based TV show and his new CD
“FORGETTING TO REMEMBER” which contains 14 original tunes that showcase
Greg’s writing, playing and singing talents.
1998 has also seen his career take a dramatic swing upward with an MMC board and
chatroom on America On Line, a fan club affiliated with the International Fan Club
Organization, and, a web sight which has gotten over 11,500 hits in just over a year.
All in all 1999 promises to be a banner year for Greg with a new CD due out in November
titled, “TAKE IT SLOW”.Have you performed in front of an audience?yes, we have and do play live. In various locations in Northen Georgia along with various locations in Nashville, Tennessee. Every moment on stage and making someone smile is a special moment.
