We, Post requiem are a 4 piece, post meaning after and requiem meaning "a Mass for the Dead". We grew to like the name and felt that it protrayed our new style of music.
Band/artist history
Post Requiem formed October 2003. When Rob seeking a first band found Beanie and Chizle who were both seeking a new band. They regularly practiced over winter 2003 to produce a set that they started gigging with in early Spring 2004. They launched themselves at Clopton village hall (under the name Ataxia) where they invited many local bands to put on a show to a crowd about 100. From this gig they were invited to play in Ipswich where they play regularly to this day. After several gigs a decision was made to record. In early June 2004 they recorded their first EP. After the release of their EP they played several gigs with a keyboard. After deciding that this was not a route they wished to explore they broke up for the summer. During the summer John Fruscante released an Album under the name Ataxia. So in September Ataxia returned to do their final few gigs under the name Ataxia before reforming. In the space of two weeks Ataxia reformed into Post Requiem, then entered Doug the new guitarist to take the load off Beanies shoulders. Post Requiem looked with their new form to move their music forward and began to create a classier new generation of songs. Currently Post Requiem are gigging regularly around Suffolk and Norfolk and have no thoughts of finishing.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We mostly play around the Ipswich (Suffolk) area but try to play in new places when we can.
Your musical influences
The good thing about the band is that we are all into something different which gives us more input into the songs and gives us more variation.
