Crazy backing track I'd downloaded onto my P.C. from somewhere. Had a go at recording something over it...
Sting In Your Tail Sting In Your Tail
A user created a backing track and posted it on http://www.guitars101.com/vb/forumindex.php?referrerid=7275. I used it, and named the song with reference to his user i.d.
Hi there,
Been playing guitar for a while now, but seriously need to persevere with guitar lessons to actually get to any sort of level.
Some theory would help, but it would all boil down to one thing - practise !
Anyway, here's my stuff. Upon creating my place on this site, I realised most of the stuff I do is covers, and as I can't upload them, cuz I don't have permission, this site is a tad empty until I write some more originals !Band/artist history
I don't really have a history to be honest. Started playing guitar for two reasons, Eddie Van Halen, and my older brother. Both were and still are big guitar heros of mine.
Progressed through the usual University scene picking up ideas as I went along.
Here I am many years later. Still not brilliant, but every now and then there's a moment of something decent !Have you performed in front of an audience?I play live in my house, I wouldn't inflict it upon others.
I played live once in a Church band when I was younger. I dropped my plectrum, hit wrong notes during my solo, and was upstaged by the lead guitarist who was a Vai clone. I don't think I ever really recovered.
Although I did used to do impromptu acoustic sessions after we'd returned from the pub...
Such classics as, "Every Rose Has It's Thorn", "Bitter Wine", and "Wonderwall" became regular favourites !
I also played a few times at a pub in Winchester for free beer. That was great !
I also played at a party on our street, and that was great because all my mates were doing the Wayne's World "we're not worthy" at my feet. My playing got the mood going, and lots of people started smooching away. Everyone later told me that my playing really made the party a success !
Unfortunately, as I was on for an hour, when I'd finished, everyone was paired up, so it was just me and the trusty 12 string to accompany each other home once again !
