When Creation Celebrates When Creation Celebrates
Title Track of our new CD. NOT your typical worship song. Get ready to dance.
I Declare I Declare
Another of Mike's Songs on the CD. Based out of a section in Proverbs, this song starts off with God calling to his people and we respond in the chorus.
You are Love You are Love
This one leans more towards the congregational side of the Album. It's based on 1 Corinthians 13. Enjoy!
We are a worship group from St.John the evangelist Anglican church in edmonton Alberta. The songs here are some of the origionals from our up coming CD. Most of the CD is made up of songs done the way we play on sunday morning, with a few "just for fun" tracks. Our goal has been to make a tool for people in our congregation to be able to take home for personal devotion as well as for spreading his news.
Our band is an ecclectic mix of musicians, and our songs prove that. Our intrumentation alone is quite interesting - listing not only guitars, piano, bass and drums, but small pipes, violins, and trombone. It's quite an origional sound at times. Other times, it becomes very straight ahead.Band/artist history
We are a group of young people united in Christ who have been privilaged with leading his people in worship regularily in an incredible community of believers.Have you performed in front of an audience? We play every second sunday at St.John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Edmonton Alberta. check out their webiste
Your musical influences
All of the regular worship leaders, but there are also many ecclectic influences. Many of us listen to a lot of Jazz, latin and Funk music. Some songs have a celtic flare to them, while others are kind of rocky. There's some dave matthews influences in there too.Anything else?
"We live in a time where the word worship is often misunderstood. We use it to encapsulate only what we do at church on a Sunday morning. Yet worship is much bigger than that. Paul gives the church a very clear definition saying: “I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:1-2
The title track of this album evokes an image of all of creation joining together in the common chorus ‘we want to see your will be done’. That is what worship is: sacrificing our desires and ambitions to pursue the good, pleasing and perfect will of God. It involves living our created purpose to be set apart; reflecting the image and likeness of him who created us. Creation celebrates when the created worship God by being that which he created them to be.
God has taught our group much about worship in the past few years. More than anything we are learning what it means to submit ourselves in order to bring him glory. We are humbled by the responsibility he has entrusted us with and feel privileged to lead God’s people in singing his praises at St. John’s. Our prayer each Sunday is that God would accept our offering and use it to bring himself the glory and honor he is due. We pray that this CD will be a tool for you to join all of creation in celebrating the splendor and majesty of our God and that you’ll respond to his greatness. That you will offer yourself to him as a living sacrifice, praying that his will be done in your life.'Contact
